Role Overview

The Director of Sales is a pivotal leadership role at Krista.ai, responsible for building and scaling our sales organization to drive significant revenue growth. This individual will develop and execute a high-impact sales strategy, lead a team of high-performing Account Executives, and personally engage in key enterprise deals. The ideal candidate is a strategic “player-coach” who excels at building a world-class sales function while actively closing complex, high-value opportunities. You will be instrumental in defining our market position and achieving our ambitious growth targets.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of Account Executives to exceed revenue targets.
  • Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement through effective coaching and mentorship.
  • Set clear sales quotas, manage performance against KPIs, and develop career paths for the sales team.

Strategy & Execution

  • Design and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to penetrate target markets and expand our customer base.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts, manage budgets, and report on key metrics to the executive team.
  • Own and refine the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and pipeline management to negotiation and closing.

Pipeline & Revenue Growth

  • Actively manage the sales pipeline to ensure forecast accuracy and predictability.
  • Personally lead and support complex sales cycles with strategic enterprise accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with C-level executives and key decision-makers at client and prospect organizations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the Marketing team to align on lead generation strategies, campaigns, and messaging.
  • Collaborate with the Client Success and Technical Account Management teams to ensure a seamless customer handoff and identify upsell/expansion opportunities.
  • Provide critical market and customer feedback to the Product and Engineering teams to influence the product roadmap.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in B2B enterprise software or SaaS sales, with a consistent track record of exceeding sales targets.
  • 5+ years of experience in a sales leadership role, successfully building, scaling, and managing high-performing sales teams.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic go-to-market plans.
  • Expertise in managing complex sales cycles, deal negotiation, and closing six-figure (or larger) contracts.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; proven ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills with deep proficiency in CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Experience selling AI, workflow automation, low-code/no-code platforms, or other emerging technologies.
  • Proven success in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
  • An established network of C-level contacts within mid-market or enterprise organizations.
  • Formal training in established sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDIC, Challenger Sale, Value Selling).
