Installing Krista into Teams

Microsoft Teams is a powerful and versatile collaboration platform developed by Microsoft, designed to facilitate communication and teamwork in today’s digital workplaces. It brings together chat, video conferencing, file sharing, and collaboration tools into a single integrated hub, making it easier for teams to connect and collaborate, regardless of their physical locations. Integrating other apps into Teams can enhance its functionality and provide more efficient workflows for users. In this document, we will explore how to use Microsoft Teams as an extension of Krista, an AI-led automation platform.

You can configure and use the Microsoft Teams as an extension in Krista Studio. This means Krista’s features will be available and easy to use in Teams, enhancing communication and interaction.

To connect Teams with Krista, you need to provide an invoker ID during registration. After it is registered, you can engage in conversations. Invoker ID is the parameter that identifies the invocation of an operation.

Prerequisites & Specifications for Accessing Krista

For logging in and using the Microsoft Teams extension within Krista, you would need:

  • The URL for Krista Studio (https://studio.poc.krista.app/)
  • Krista is a software service, that you can use and configure (License)
  • At the environmental level – ALS credentials. Appliance License Service (ALS) manages the Krista licenses. Appliance publication service (APS) will be used to share data between the different environments and service based on access rights.
  • Krista Teams extension that configured and is in working condition. An extension is an application that connects Krista with third-party systems for creating automations.
  • Workspace key to log in
  • Admin account setup
  • Customer support (support@krista.ai)
  • Documentation (available as Help in the left-hand navigation panel) in Krista Studio

Configuring Microsoft Teams Extension in Krista

To use MS Teams with Krista, add the Teams Extension to a Krista Studio workspace.

1. Navigate to Catalog > Essentials > Collaborations > Teams and add that extension to the workspace. The extension is the Team Omni extension in the Krista catalog.

2. Click Add Extension. The following UI panel will be displayed.

3. Click Add to Workspace.

4. On the Setup page, for the Global Service URL field use the value as https://teams.krista.app/. This is the URL of the Teams Global Server.

5. Role is the Krista user role, use Admin here, as the entry value.

6. Ensure that Trust Extension is enabled. Refer to the following screenshot.

7. On the Details tab, refer to the Invoker Id field. Note that it will be the registration ID that you must use in Teams.
